My Beauty Binge

So... I did a bad thing! Well to be fair it wasn't all that bad and I have used everything I bought a lot already! A couple of weeks ago I worked a few extra and got some tips and ended up with a good amount of money to spare. Like every make-up obsessed person I know of, it didn't take me long to decide where this money was going to go. Here's what I got:

Real Techniques - Starter Set (a long awaited item at the top of my wishlist)
Mitchum Advanced Control 48 hour deodorant - Shower Fresh
Sally Hansen Double Duty Strengthening Base and Top Coat
Collection Does It All 5 in 1 Mascara
Seventeen Miracle Matte Loose Powder - Transparent
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick
Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush stick - Not An Illusion
Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint - Key Lime
Bourjois Bronzing Primer
Seventeen Flawless Poreless Primer
Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint - Mango

I love all the products I bought here, but the stand-outs for me are the Elizabeth Arden lip balm and the Bourjois Bronzing Primer. They are both extremely good quality and I use both pretty much everyday! (Although beware that less is more with this bronzer is it is slightly orange toned.) I also use the Rimmel lip stick pen almost everyday as it complements the season and is a really easy, natural colour to wear.

What make-up product could you not live without right now?

Moving to University..

Although this post is long over due, I decided I wanted to settle in to Uni life and be able to actually talk about it before I wrote a post..

This picture above is a few of the things that I brought to uni with me (I say a few because I didn't think anyone would be too bothered what pans and cups I was bringing so didn't include them).

First is a big paddle brush and clips. The necessity is obvious for this one! But I decided that a heavy duty brush like this one was the best bet for my long mane, and the clips with this one seemed like a good deal and therefore a sensible brush to pick... Plus I LOVE Babyliss products!
Moving along to the right we have a green picture frame with many windows, for any of you who have read my blog before or have seen my YouTube videos, you will know that lime green is my favourite colour, which is partly why I chose this one, but I also like the multi-window thing so i can put lots of different pictures in it that will make me smile!
Next along to the right we have cotton pads which are essential to any girl! I use these to take off my makeup and my nail varnish and then they just generally come in handy a lot of the time anyway.
Moving down from there, shower gel. This is another obvious essential, this one is Imperial Leather, Sensuous Silk. I chose this one by smelling all of the different types of shower gel and decided this one smelled the best!
Directly right of that is Blistex Relief Cream. I suffer with such dry lips that often in the winter they crack when I smile (which is super painful!) so I always sleep with a tube of this next to my bed and put it on religiously last thing before I go to sleep and first thing when I wake up. It's also useful to know where I keep it if I need it during the day because a tube that size I could lose very, very easily.
Next to that are just some bog standard cotton buds because these are really useful for everything (there main use being clearing up nail varnish smudges because I can never sit still long enough for my nails to dry).
Next along is a pack of 4 shower puffs from Asda. If I'm being honest, I may have picked up these specific ones because of the green one...a little bit. But I love these as they can exfoliate while you wash in the shower - 2 birds, one stone, great for lazy people like me!
The next thing is a little less obvious and I just happened to stumble across it while scouring Wilkinson. This nifty little contraption is a hanger with smaller hooks on it for your necklaces so you can then put them in the wardrobe! Brilliant idea for people in student rooms with not a lot of space, like yours truly. Good old Wilko's!
Penultimately we have a big can of Treseme hairspray. An essential, I think you'll agree. I found this in Tesco and it was an extra big can so thought the likelihood was it would last me longer.
And lastly, are 3 bottles of Hand Sanitizer. I'm a bit of a freak over germs and sharing a house with 27 other people makes me cringe if I think to much about it! all those hands on the door handles and banisters and I really hate the fact that I have to share a bathroom! Too many germs for my liking! So one big bottle for my room and 2 little bottles for various handbags.

All in all, I'm really loving Uni. I love my course and I feel like I'm thriving living away from home. I've been pretty independent for a while so I think living away from my parents suits me quite well.

If you've managed to read all the way down to here, I commend you very much, and thank you, I hope you enjoyed this post, as its slightly different to what I usually do. Speak to you all soon pals!xx

What's Been Happening..

Hey there friends!

If you follow this blog, even very occasionally, you may have noticed that I have not written anything on here in quite a while..

Well there are two main reasons for this; #1) I have become very lazy since leaving school for the final time and I am enjoying not having loads of stuff to do. It's a novelty to me to have time to watch TV so I'm taking full advantage of this new opportunity! So that basically means that both my youtube channel and my blog have suffered a bit - a problem I am now beginning to rectify! #2) I have done a crazy amount of travelling this summer, much more than I usually do, but I have to say I'm loving it! So far I've been to Paris, Greece and Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival. This is all within the space of a month as well so it's been a bit of a whirlwind.

Now I have kind of stopped to catch my breath and I am getting back on top of things like the blog, my YouTube channel, my Twitter and my general lifestyle outside of the Internet.

Here are some pictures from my travels, they are a bit limited because I could only use ones of me with no one else in them, sorry!

Lovers Bridge - Paris
Notre Dame - Paris

Eiffel Tower - Paris
Disney Studios Gate - Disneyland Paris

This ones more obvious but I love Tink

Disney castle at sunset- Disneyland Paris
So since I first wrote the beginning of this post a lot has gone down! On my second trip to Edinburgh in a week, one of the train staff spilt wine over my laptop, breaking it beyond repair! I then went through a very lengthy claim on the train's insurance to find that they were not prepared to give me enough money to replace the MacBook they broke. I've also started uni and moved into accommodation, which is a mad house but I really love it! Because of starting uni, the fact that I am dyslexic means I get a grant which gets me a laptop, lots of software, a Dictaphone and other things I will need, meaning i now have a Windows laptop. (In terms of being dyslexic, it doesn't really bother me, I just see it as one of those things, but I know that some people get very self-concious about having dyslexia, and paranoia plays a big part in this. If anyone wants a post on my experiences with dyslexia, leave me a comment and I will do that.)

When my laptop was broken I lost a lot of my pictures including some from Greece which is why there are none above.

Anyways, love you and leave you chums <3

Did you do anything fun or crazy this summer? Leave me a comment..

New Purchases!

Hello there chums!

I am currently writing this blog post from my holiday apartment in Paris. I don't own it or anything, just hiring :) But anyway, one thing I look forward to whenever I find myself in France is a good old trip to Sephora.

To some readers this may seem odd but I've actually only ever been in Sephora twice, including today, because they don't have it in England (I know, Shocker!) which means that whenever I do get to enter this blissful little haven I get very over excited!! I also end up spending a lot of money.. Whoops!

So this is the stuff I bought. From left to right, top to bottom:
Sephora Rounded Crease Brush '13'
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Waterproof Eye Pencil 'Deep End'
Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream '20'
Sephora Lip Pencil 'Cute Caramel'
Sephora Shadow Brush '25'
Sephora Sparkling Metallic Eyeshadow 'Outrageous Metallic Black'
Sephora Long Lasting Eyeshadow 'Sunday Brunch'
Sephora Long Lasting Eyeshadow 'Disco Fever'

So here are the swatches, I love all these colours and didn't really have any others like these. If anyone wants reviews on any of these products then just leave me a comment saying which ones. As yet I haven't had a chance to try all of these products but I'll be sure to report back when I have!

Guess who's back..?

My exams are over!! YEYEYEYEYEY!! *happy dances*. Which means I now have a whole sumer filled with nothing but blog posts and YouTube videos!

So on to the point! I recently received a late birthday gift joint from my Granny and my Aunty which was lots of M.A.C goodies…

From left to right: 'Nightmoth' lip pencil, 'Brave' lipstick, eyeshadows: 'Humid', 'Jest', 'Vex' and 'Brule'.

Aside from Humid and Jest these were all things I'd asked for but forgotten about. Humid is such a lovely rich green, it's a frost so it has a beautiful shimmer picking up all different shades of green and gold in the light. Jest is also a frost. A salmony pink with a silver iridescent sparkle. Vex is another frost, but the most interesting one to me. As you can see in this picture it looks like a grey at first glimpse, but when you see it in deferent lights it also has levels of lilac and green. the colour is so complex yet so flattering to wear! Next on the list is Brave. the only way i can some this one up is it's a pink 'your lips but better' shade, and instantly became my new favourite for a daytime look!

Lastly is this lip pencil in Nightmoth. The colour I originally asked for was Current but as this particular MAC store didn't stock it they were assured this was the closest thing to it. its a very deep purple, perfect for a big statement lip at a party or event!

Do you have any of these products? What do you think of them?

Sorry for being rubbish!

So about a week ago I posted my first '30 Day Snap' post. Now the idea of this is that everyday you post a picture of something you did/that happened that day.

But really I couldn't have picked a worse time for that sort of a challenge! I'm right in the middle of my final exams in my last year of school (A-Levels or Finals if you're American) and I am majorly stressing about this! Plus there's the whole uni thing and exams aren't exactly easy for me which isn't a massive help..

Not that I'm making excuses other than the truth.. So yeah lovelies, sorry for starting something I couldn't finish (Gosh it sounds like I'm breaking up with you…which I'm not…I promise).

Love you loads!

30 Day Snap #1

Hello friends :)

So this is one band waggon that I am a little late in jumping on, but I only just found out what all this daily snap malarkey was about! But now I know I'm fully on board.. So here it is!

This snap is just a silly one to start today but this is my breakfast this morning! Now let me explain…
So personally I don't like milk. I hate the smell and the taste and even the texture which I know is quite odd! But because of this distaste I have eaten my cereal dry with no milk for the last 11/12 years. I recently went on a summer health kick looking for that bikinis body that all girls want for the beach holidays and bought this All Bran cereal. After trying it I decided it might taste better with a bit of milk…So today I tested my theory. For the most part I was right but I hate the way milk makes your cereal soggy,, it really grosses me out and even discussing it now is making me feel sick!

Sorry for the long winded story but I felt like I should explain the context of this odd post! Also,, I am aware that you can't actually see any milk in the above picture because the bowl is white and I only put a tiny amount in,, so I also took a proof picture ;)..

Here you can just about see the tiny dribble of milk on my cereal,, I really couldn't stand to put anymore in!

Do you think it's totally strange that I don't eat cereal with milk on it?? And are you a fan of the 30 Day Snap??

Face Mask Friday #2

Hello lovely readers!

So since its exam season the stress levels are running high! So the reason that I wanted to do a Face Mask Friday was the exact same reason that I kept forgetting to do one! But everyone loves a good face mask, don't we? So last week (because I'm running a bit behind) my sister went to a Lush party and brought home a face mask she made, deciding to get involved in the FMF festivities! With it being chocolate flavoured it does vaguely resemble excrement but we're thinking happy thoughts…

So yeah like I said… it looks great! (I'm a very sarcastic person…do forgive me!) So this contains various things like chocolate obviously, cocoa butter, talcum powder, a sugar paste all among other things that I don't know because I wasn't there, sorry! And then my sister lovingly topped it with chocolate chips for decoration. So cute and lovely!

So unlike the Montagne Jeunesse face masks which everyone knows and loves, this mask was a bit more lumpy and the consistency was a lot thicker. You also can't feel it deeply penetrating the pores of your face like you can some of the Montagne Jeunesse masks. I am told that this mask is very good for spots but I am so far unconvinced from one use.

So you can see here the texture is not as smooth as some store bought face masks. But despite all the ways which it differs from common face masks, it was still very relaxing to have on and a nice thing to do with my little sister! I also think that making your own face mask is such a cute idea from Lush and I encourage everyone to pop to a store and try any and all of their products!

Much Love xoxo

A Fantastic Little Service..

Hey beauties :)!

So I was recently referred to a website when was tweeting with Nic from Pixiwoo. She recommended me the Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz pencil (which I now own and love) and said you could get it at Professional Online Makeup (www.pomltd.com).

So I made an order at POM on a Wednesday. It said my things would be dispatched on Friday, estimated delivery on Monday. On Thursday I got an email saying that my package had been dispatched and then it arrived on Saturday. This is fantastic service! I didn't know if they just weren't busy at that time or what but I couldn't have been happier!

When it arrived the envelope was wrapped in bubble wrap as one would expect from such a parcel (went a bit posh there!). The items inside were put into a little plastic bag with a POM sticker with a little bit of ribbon attached like a rosette. A nice touch. It also came with a very sweet professional looking business card saying 'With compliments'. So cute!

So here are all the things I bought from POM. Two new Real Techniques brushes, and the Anastasia Brow Wiz, along with the little business card. I am thrilled with the service I have received from POM and will certainly be using this website again! Their range of brands is so extensive and I really do recommend anyone who reads this to go and check out their website (linked above). And I hope you all end up loving the site as much as I do!

Thank you POM!!

Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter Review

Hello happy people :)!

Today's review is (as you can see from the title) of the much loved Revlon Colourburst Lip Butters. Personally I love these! I have 3 now and I can't wait to invest in more!

The colours I have already are 'Sorbet', 'Juicy Papaya', and 'Tutti Frutti'. In terms of lipsticks my taste is eclectic, so all these colours are some of my favourites.

At the moment I'm loving these bright colours which I think is linked to my love for summer. The consistency is creamy, with enough pigment for it to be used as a stand alone lipstick. These are a delightful little invention because they apply like a lipstick, but have a much more moisture rich formula. This means that they don't dry your lips out horrendously during an all day wear (and I hate nothing more). So this product is perfect for me and my prone-to-dryness skin!

So first is Juicy Papaya, this is such a nice peachy colour. Its very subtle on the lips, making this a perfect colour for everyday. I really like this one with my skin tone since I've started to tan a little bit now.

Next is Sorbet. Now a year ago I would never have touched a colour this bright. I didn't do statements and I didn't feel i could ever pull off a bright lip. However it's colours like this that helped to sway me, and now I'm hooked! Now I eagerly await the chance to wear a stand-out colour. This blue toned bright pink its such an amazing colour that doesn't bleed and stays put really well. It makes your teeth look whiter and can work great when you haven't put a lot of effort into your eye makeup. It's also great for going out! This is a colour I really love to the moon and back.

Last but certainly not least in my eyes isTutti Frutti, which is a bright corally orange. Personally I love coral and orange shades against my skin tone as I think it enhances my eyes and tan. so this colour is super perfect for me! It wears well and also doesn't bleed considering its brightness (because its always the bright ones that bleed!). I love this colour to go out and equally for a slightly more done up everyday look.

All in all I love these lip butters! The staying power is great, they don't dry out your lips and all the shades are really wearable and theres something for everyone in that collection! If you don't have any of these already I highly suggest you invest! They aren't a splurge being a high street product. I feel these are a great asset to my makeup collection!

Great New Find!!

Hello again friends :)

I was just reading through Beth's blog and she recently posted about a little shop called Dirty Dolly Designs. Humanly, I was curious after seeing her pictures of pieces she picked out as her favourites. So off I went first to their twitter which then lead me to their website. And this jewellery is some of the most adorable yet chic yet edgy stuff I've ever seen! And it's affordable! BONUS!!

So like Beth I picked out a few pieces that I fell in love with:
This is the first piece of their jewellery I saw when I went onto Dirty Dolly's website, and I instantly fell in love! I clicked on it straight away! This is exactly the kind of jewellery I go for! Boho chic meets modern style! and I love it soo much! I am probably going to buy this! Oh and the best bit? £9.00! Just saying..
Next is this adorable little black beaded bracelet with a brass bow on it. Now I have a bit of an obsession with bows, and I love retro style jewellery with bows on it! So this bracelet is practically made for me and I am definitely purchasing this! But this really does break the bank with a whopping £5.00! Are you in love with this site yet because I am!?!?
Lastly is this gold studded bracelet. This mix of edgy and cute is exactly the kind of style I wear day to day mixing the edgy with cute clothes to create the best mix in my eyes! This bracelet is the one thing I am missing from my studded collection and believe me it will be added very soon! And this swoops in with another £5.00 bargain!

These pieces are just perfection and the price tag is making me fall even more in love! I strongly suggest you all check out this site since I feel they have something for everyone :) Definitely one of my new favourites!

My Birthday Haul

Hello my favourite strangers!

I know I kind of went MIA for a while but the last three weeks has been a total whirlwind! I'm not even sure what I was doing for most of it!! But thats life I suppose!

Anyway so my Birthday! It was my 18th which, those of you who are British know, is a big deal here! You've reached the legal drinking age so can go out to clubs, and it's the official age of adulthood here in the UK. And my actual Birthday was amazing! I spent it with my family and closest friends and I will remember it for a very long time.

So into the haul! Me being me, most of the things I asked for were either makeup or makeup related, so I was one happy bunny!

So my main present was a new camera to help with my blog and youtube channel and I was also given a tripod to go with it.
Here you can see all the presents I got minus my camera because that's what I took the pictures on. I got a Links of London necklace and some pandora charms, along with some champagne and a glittery 18 glass to drink it from. I then also got a photo frame with a little message on it which is super cute and something I can keep for a long time.
In terms of beauty I got a few things I'd wanted and a few things I hadn't thought of but love. All lip products here are from my very good friend Beth (here's her blog). As some of you who read my Birthday Countdown may know, I had asked for Macaroon, a Topshop pinky-coral lipstick, which Beth saw on my post and bought me, along with 2 Revlon Lip Butters which we have both been raving about! She clearly payed attention to which ones I liked the best when we were looking at them all online because she got me the ones I wanted the most! She also got me the green nail varnish, as she knows I love new nail polishes and my favourite colour is green, but this is a shade I did not have. She clearly knows me very well! Thank you Beth!! The Katy Perry eyelashes by Eylur are from my mum, who knows my love for both KP and eyelashes! Plus these are exactly the kind I love! Fluttery without being like slugs on your eyes and weighing them down. So thanks Mum!! And lastly the two Topshop nail polishes are things that I bought myself with a voucher I received. These are two colours that were on my Birthday Countdown post so when I got a voucher I chose to purchase these two. Sea Mist, a silver glitter with tinges of blue in certain light, and Flamingo Coral, which is pretty self-explanitary. It's a pink colour with hints of coral, very summery!

Here are the jewellery items I got. I'm not a massive wearer of jewellery but I really love all the stuff i got here! My favourite is perhaps the Earth necklace from Topshop. Earth being my Zodiac sign, I picked this up on sale and have worn it every day since I bought it!! The Links necklace was a big present that I really wasn't expecting but I do really like it and I feel like the silver compliments my skin tone and eye/hair colour. I got creative with the Pandora charms and put the 18 one on the Links necklace since taking this photo which I am now wearing every time I do not wear gold.

All in all my Birthday was amazing, and definitely a day to remember, just the way I wanted it to be :)

Thanks for reading!! Leave me a comment if you have any of these things telling me why you like them!

Face Mask Friday!

Hello Friday readers!! (and hello to people who don't read this on a Friday..)

So as you may have seen from my other blog posts, my friend Beth has a blog. Tonight she posted another of her quirky posts and called it Face Mask Friday. It was basically her de-stressing with a face mask from the Montagne Jennesse range. It involved a very funny video which I think you should all watch, just for comic value!

Anyway my point is this inspired me to get involved with her new thing,, Face Mask Friday! So basically I jumped on the bandwagon.

I chose the chocolate mask as it is good for blemishes and is also de-stressing (and I had a bit of a university break down today) so this seemed perfect!

The consistency is creamy, almost mousse-like but not quite as airy. Its a very soft consistency and has a cooling, soothing effect when you put it on. It smells very chocolatey which for me is great but if its not your thing then be aware! What I love about these masks is you can really feel them working on your skin and gosh can you see an effect when you take it off!

Once you've put the mask on it dries, leading to my personal favourite part... Pulling funny faces and stretching your face to crack the mask and feel it crumble on your skin. I don't know why I love that bit so much, theres just this child-like urge to break free from the rigidness the dry mask leaves you with.
So as you can see there are also some funny poses involved in face masks! So this definitely was de-stressing and something that, like Beth, I'm going to try and do every week!! Do join in with Face Mask Friday because everyone loves a face mask!

Anyways, night lovelies! xoxo

Birthday Countdown

Hello Friends :)
So after my very good friend Beth had her 18th birthday the other week (Beth's blog) and got many lovely makeup/cosmetic type presents, including the one from me - heres her post on it, I started to get very excited about my own 18th birthday! My birthday is so close yet so far at 2 weeks away and since I'm so excited but have no actual presents to post about yet, I thought I'd share with you the cosmetic side of my birthday wish list!

Please be aware that I won't get all of these things, I'm just providing my family with options :)

1. IMATS London ticket! Now this one I'm really hoping I get as I missed IMATS last year and I'm very sad of the fact!!
2. Sleek Makeup I-Divine Eyeshadow Palette. Since this is a really nice, yet not too expensive product I thought it would be a suitable ask :) plus its a really nice palette!
3. Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz. This was recommended to me by Nic from Pixiwoo and I'm really looking forward to trying it out. Eyebrow pencils often tend to disappoint me from the high street so I'm hoping this will be different :)
4. Beautiful Movements Lipgloss 'Nude'. A nude tone is one of my favourites in lip products and I feel you can never have too many shades of nude lipgloss!
5. MAC Eyeshadows - 'Brule', 'Vex', 'Humid', 'Wedge'. Brule is the top of my wishlist out of these but any combination of these eyeshadows will make me a very happy bunny!!
6. Topshop Lipstick 'Macaroon'. This is a beautiful summery colour. Enough said :).
7. Real Techniques Starter Set and Powder Brush. I love the RT brushes and these are some that I would really love to get my hands on!

Now that's it for actual makeup products although I have also asked for a new Samsung digital camera and a Mac book pro, both for my blog and YouTube channel, and also to assist me on my upcoming adventure to university!

So I hope you found this interesting! Tweet me if theres anything you think I should add to my birthday list. Or, let me know if theres something on your birthday list thats on mine as well :)!!
Much love xoxo
